Smart Power and Processing Module

Our EMM on-board electronics feature a modular architecture that adapts to your mission needs. At the heart of the system is a high-performance System-on-Module (SoM), combining FPGA and SoC technologies for maximum flexibility and control.

The Smart Power and Processing Module (SPPM) delivers efficient, real-time processing of e.g.  earth observation data. Advanced onboard software filters is capable to compress data, optimizing it for fast and reliable downlink.

With the modular design, the SPPM can be used for many applications. Depending on your project needs, one or multiple application boards can be stacked onto the core module: the Smart Processing Module (SPM).

Firmware blocks are available to enhance SoM functionality with processor softcores, data acquisition and drive/power cores. Inter-board connectors enable the design of stacked units. Therefore, SoMs are connected to other EMM products like secondary power supply or mixed-signal interface provider.

APPLICATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES

The SPPM is developed for camera control and processing including power supply for camera and payload mechanisms. Multiple cameras can be controlled and AI accelerators enable efficient image processing and reduced data link.

Our processing modules are developed for smart data aqusition systems in harsh environments. The compact processing unit can be used in any environment with extreme temperature ranges where direct access is not possible, e.g., testing in vacuum chambers.

The PCPU is a compact and low-power control unit for New Space payloads, design for thermal control, management of housekeeping data and motor control.

Within the project Processor Layout Utilization for Thermal Optimization (PLUTO) high-speed memory synchronization for a multi-processor system (MPS) is developed. The scalable performance of EMM's on-board computers is utilized to support thermal management of payload platforms.

The SPM is developed for laser signal control and processing with our cooperation partner MUnique Technology GmbH for Dynamic Optical Ranging & Timing (DORT) technology.
